CONFIGURABLE AREA DETECTION

Flexible 2D Area Detection Without Complex Data Processing

The YB27 combines 270° laser scanning, configurable detection zones and direct switching outputs in one compact sensor.

Instead of requiring an external controller to process raw LiDAR data for basic object detection, the YB27 can monitor predefined areas and directly output detection signals to a PLC or machine controller.

It is well suited for obstacle detection, machine area monitoring and mobile equipment applications where simple and efficient area-based detection is required.

HOW IT WORKS

From 2D Scanning to Direct Control

Define the detection area, monitor objects in real time, and send switching signals directly to the connected controller.

01

Scan the Area

The YB27 continuously scans a 270° two-dimensional field around the sensor.

02

Configure the Zone

Define detection areas with the required size and shape using the configuration software.

03

Detect the Object

The LiDAR monitors whether an object enters the configured detection area.

04

Output the Signal

A configurable PNP or NPN switching signal is sent directly to the PLC or machine controller.

Simple detection logic. Direct controller integration. For basic area-detection applications, object detection can be handled directly by the LiDAR without requiring external point-cloud processing.

MULTI-ZONE SWITCHING OUTPUT

Three Independent Switching Outputs

Monitor multiple detection areas and send independent switching signals to the connected PLC or machine controller.

ZONE 1

OUTPUT 1

Detection Zone 1

Provides an independent switching signal when an object is detected in the configured Zone 1 area.

OUTPUT 2

Detection Zone 2

Provides a separate output signal for the second configured detection area.

OUTPUT 3

Detection Zone 3

Allows another detection area to trigger its own independent control response.

PNP / NPN Configurable Output logic can be configured to match different PLC and industrial controller input types.
